I didn’t understand what the responsive theme had done to my website but I would by the time I finished with all the settings and codes I had to tweak around here.
It wouldn’t have been possible without the feedback I got from the readers and I’m grateful for that.
Chances are big that I will tweak some more in the future but for now it is suffice to say that I’m done!
It is one thing to build a website from scratch and it is another to use a ready-to-go theme and tweak it. I did the latter because life priorities do not allow me the time needed to create a website from bottom-up. All credits go to the people behind StudioPress.com for the themes I have been using all these years.
Alright, so what now?
In the light of celebrating both the World Heritage Day (April 18, 2015) and the Indonesian Kartini Day (April 21, 2015), I would like to share some visits I had to the Monarchies or ‘Sultanates’ on Java island, Indonesia.
One of the things I love about Indonesia is the diverse cultural landscapes I can find in each province I am privileged to visit. They add different flavors into the mix which never fail to fascinate me!
All those things combined make visiting places I had previously learned from books and history lessons back at school far from dull! In fact, being able to finally add images of places and people into those lessons is really exciting. When the time came for my visits to these ‘kingdoms’ on Java, I packed my bag with all the travel necessities and extra amount of curiosity. I was eager to learn more about the past and all its history.
The past, however, was not the part where I got my lessons from.
I read some of my old blogs with me trying to explain my previous absence from blogging. Now I’m back after not posting any blog for more than a year. Or two. This time, however, there are no excuses other than I did not feel like sharing anything here.
So I gave myself a long break from blogging and after all is said and done, I chose to focus on ‘now’.
The bottom line is: nobody is perfect. Just like everybody else, I am still a work in progress. I am completely okay with that and so grateful for the supports from families and friends during these on and off blogging years! With the pass of time came the realization that my website is not perfect either. The previous theme was no longer able to meet the ongoing demands. As the result, I decided to change.
The website theme, that is!
As someone who lives in a country that is an archipelago, flying is the main access when travel time is short. Having a hometown at the northernmost part of the country shortened the means of transport list as well! Add those with the rest of the journeys to go in a year? Sitting on the plane can be an art of itself!
Despite the risks and dramas which sometimes occur on the plane (why is getting off the plane in order of row is so difficult for people to fathom?!!), it is possible to keep everything in tact throughout the journey. Most especially when we know the reason we are on that plane at the first place.
How to make it counts, though?
It has been thirteen months of no blogging on this website. Needless to say, I am not proud of it but it did not happen for no reason. I do, however, hate excuses so I chose to take another approach.
Before I move on, all there is left to say about what happened in those thirteen months is: life.
We all live and learn in one way or another. Today, I can’t be more grateful for having a new way of learning life. As I mentioned before, rather than excuses, I prefer talking about all the learned lessons from January 2012 to January 2013. There are more than enough to feed one’s soul.
On every given day!
