There is time for everything!

The time is finally here!

The last couple of weeks have been like going on a time travel machine to me. I feel like hopping around from one year of my life to another, recollecting memories.

It’s an amazing ‘journey’ as well as a huge challenge to experience all that while enjoying my holiday on a beautiful island. I’m glad I remember everything.

The only reason I need to do all these because I’m about to start a new chapter in my life. Therefore, I want to decide which parts of my past I will take with me to the future and which parts I need to leave behind.

To have these options is simply a bliss.

To be in sync

After almost 15 months blogging here, I am glad I can have a working system.

People who visit my website can see what kind of stuff I post here and decide whether they are going to stick around and come back later on or not.

I still have a vivid memory of times when I did not have enough posts to fill the home page of this site. Something happened as the result and I learned a lesson, the hard way.

Yes, I’m grateful to be where I am now. However, what you see on the ‘front-end’ is a result of all the works needed to be done on the ‘back-end’ of this site.

Things are more than just ‘meet the eye’.

Open Mouth Insert FOOD?

~ amidst ~ ©Thesunsetgirl.Com
No, you did not read it wrongly.

I did use ‘Open mouth insert FOOD’ as the title of this post. We all know the old saying ‘Open mouth insert FOOT’ which means ‘to say something without thinking carefully’.

I will share why I had to change the end of that saying in the title later on this blog.

It is not an easy blog to write though. As someone who happen to love talking (I plea not guilty!), I know how challenging it can be to think first before saying something. It is much easier to do the opposite, say whatever I think.

That usually comes with a price to pay.

Do It Yourself: Sharing is Caring

~ On Fire ~ ©Thesunsetgirl.Com
“Lusy, you can’t fake it!” said a dear friend of mine while enjoying some hot chocolate on a cloudy Saturday afternoon. It was such a blow, I could not shake it off my head right away. What she meant at that time was the way I’ve been doing things on-line. That there should be specific reasons behind all these hustle and bustle. Believe it or not, my first reason is NOT money. I have been blogging on a self-hosted WordPress for almost eight months yet not a single ads can be found on my page! I am not saying that I do not need money. I simply believe in doing what I love and that there is time for everything.

I am also happen to be a big fan of “move your own way”.

Do It Yourself: Building Your Home

~ ©Thesunsetgirl.Com ~
It’s been a month since I first opened this page and I really enjoy the journey! I’ve learned more new things in one month than all the previous years combined!

Many might think what can possibly be written about blogging after doing it for only a month? Allow me to explain.

I started blogging in 2007 and have been doing it on more than three different platforms. It is definitely one of my biggest passions – how I met a lot of wonderful people from all over the world and learned from one another.

After doing it for some months, I shared about this with my families back home. On a trip home for Christmas in 2008, they asked where I wanted to go with this hobby (that’s how they describe blogging).

It surely got me thinking!

Do It Yourself: In the Beginning

~ in the beginning ~ ©Thesunsetgirl.Com
My journey in the blogging world started in February 2007 when I accidentally clicked the “Yahoo 360″ button on my Yahoo Messenger window. As the result, I automatically opened a blog page.

I didn’t even know what a blog is!

Needless to say, I had no idea what happened at that time but I gave it a go anyway. I did that by experimenting with all the features there. I figured, I already hit a button by mistake, I might as well hit the rest of them! I still remember my first blog ever, just a post with one sunset picture (the one I use here) and a short paragraph to describe it. It was as simple as that!

Little that I knew what was about to hit me.
