Coffee is by far my biggest vice. The smell of freshly brewed coffee will get me started more than any other food and beverages combined. That is why it is a must to have at least a glass of coffee in the morning. I love the way it helps me focus when I’m working.

As far as I can remember, I started drinking coffee when I was a teenager because I wanted to stay up till late at night. The time when everybody in the family was home and gathered in the family room to talk about our days.

The only thing I don’t like when it comes to coffee is the sound of the coffee grinder. Fortunately, I only hear it when I am hanging out at a favorite coffee shop – busily talking with my best friends.

However, it doesn’t mean I don’t like tea.

Reality Bites!

I took part in a ‘one in a lifetime’ tour that took us from the Sunda Kelapa harbor to the fishing village across it.

Sunda Kelapa is the old harbor in Batavia – what the capital city of my country used to be called before the independence. It is located in the Northern part of Jakarta, side by side with the more modern harbor where we can find all the fancy boats.

The smell of that old harbor alone was a tad difficult to handle for me but nothing compared to what I saw floating on the water when we were getting on the boat. I honestly didn’t see it coming and until now, the image is still somehow stuck in my head.

I’m forever glad that it never bothers me more than necessary and I can go on with my life as normal as before but I don’t think I will ever forget that day. It was one of those times when reality bit me and opened my eyes!

I ended up wondering, how public is PUBLIC?
