There is time for everything!

The time is finally here!

The last couple of weeks have been like going on a time travel machine to me. I feel like hopping around from one year of my life to another, recollecting memories.

It’s an amazing ‘journey’ as well as a huge challenge to experience all that while enjoying my holiday on a beautiful island. I’m glad I remember everything.

The only reason I need to do all these because I’m about to start a new chapter in my life. Therefore, I want to decide which parts of my past I will take with me to the future and which parts I need to leave behind.

 

To have these options is simply a bliss.

On Thanksgiving

What a Thanksgiving season we have here!

No, you didn’t read it wrongly. Our Thanksgiving is not celebrated on just one day. How is that? My hometown, Manado, is located inside one of the regencies in North Sulawesi province called Minahasa where people are mostly farmers. Rice farmers, to be precise.

That is why, the majority of people here are Minahasa people even though we have people from other parts of the province in town. As rice farmers, people wait for the rice harvest before celebrating Thanksgiving and it can happen more than one times in a year.

 

That is how we celebrate Thanksgiving more than once.

Open Mouth Insert FOOD?

No, you did not read it wrongly.

I did use ‘Open mouth insert FOOD’ as the title of this post. We all know the old saying ‘Open mouth insert FOOT’ which means ‘to say something without thinking carefully’.

I will share why I had to change the end of that saying in the title later on this blog.

It is not an easy blog to write though. As someone who happen to love talking (I plea not guilty!), I know how challenging it can be to think first before saying something. It is much easier to do the opposite, say whatever I think.

 

That usually comes with a price to pay.
